“To strive for excellence is admirable. To strive for perfection is a character defect.” -Tony O’Brien

First of all, let me wish everyone a Happy New Year!  I hope the holiday season was enjoyable and you are rested and ready to start off 2015 on the right foot!  I know I wasn’t thrilled about returning to work after being out on leave the past two months, but I am excited for what 2015 with bring both personally and professionally!

My quote this month hits home to me and I’m sure many of you.  We all want to do the best we can, but we must realize that we are not perfect!  Your IFMA Board is working to provide the best learning & development and networking & events that we can for you.  Please know that as much as we are trying, we know we will not get it 100% right and always welcome your feedback.  Please email me or Chapter VP Randy Rabon with any comments or concerns you may have.  Also, please look for our Chapter survey coming your way toward the end of the winter.  We strongly analyze the data collected in the survey to plan our coming year so please be candid (but kind) and let us know how you feel about how we are doing.

I also want to take a moment to extend another congratulations to our award winners this year -Connie, Amanda, Carlos, Jon and ValleyCrest – and the Networking and Events Committee for a spectacular Chapter Appreciation Event at the Angus Barn.  It has gotten bigger and better every year, and I was so proud to see an event I helped create 6 years ago become so awesome this year!

Coming up we are pleased to put on for you, programs and tours in January and February, the Mega Networking Event in February and our 1st Annual Professional Member Only Event & Social for our professional members and annual sponsors in March.  Professional member attendance at these events is critical to the success of our Chapter so I hope that as many of you as possible are able to attend.  We are working hard to continue our “Celebrate the Facility Management Professional” campaign and in turn support our sponsors whose annual contributions make all of our events possible.

I look forward to seeing you all at our upcoming events and hope you all had a fun and safe New Years!

Thank you again for allowing me the opportunity to serve as your president this year, and please do not hesitate to contact me if I can assist in making your IFMA membership better in any way!
