We are pleased to have Bruce Freeman speak to our group.  Bruce is President, System Designer, and Installer for Skyward Solar Power Company.  He holds a BA from the University of Central Florida in Business and Communications.  He received training by Solar Energy International (SEI) in Solar PV System Design and Installation and attends continued education training with SEI.  He has completed additional coursework at NC State University in Renewable Energy Technology, as well as at Appalachian State University in Photovoltaic Design.  Bruce has presented for IFMA Piedmont Triad chapter and to over a dozen firms in the Raleigh/Durham area.

Going Green is the name of the game these days.  Solar Power is a subject at the top of the list.  The presentation, Solar Power:  Building Solutions in Technology not only provides an overall understanding of solar electric systems, but also addresses how generous tax savings makes solar a viable opportunity for a company to incorporate green technology into its facility.

Bruce’s presentation will outline the 4 major components of solar electric systems and describes various technologies for each type of component.  Site specific challenges are discussed and system solutions are suggested.  Financial incentives in the form of tax credits, financing, and power purchase agreements are identified that make incorporating solar as a green energy solution a viable option for all sizes of facilities.

Solar energy is fast becoming an affordable green energy solution for all types of facilities.  A facilities professional with an understanding of solar electric systems and resources available to make the purchase a reality becomes a true asset in their company’s green initiative.
