The Advanced Crop Lab project consisted of 126,000 SF of research greenhouse and a 10,000 SF detached central utility plant feeding the 63,000 SF mechanical area, which supports the current campus site. The first of its kind, the $72 million Advanced Crop Lab allows company researchers to simulate any agricultural climate and precisely measure plant inputs – the key to helping farmers grow more food from fewer resources.

With 30 individually conditioned, climate-controlled, all-glass growth environments focused on light transmissions, Syngenta can simulate conditions from Iowa in one room while simulating conditions from Africa in the adjacent room. This flexibility allows company researchers to focus on developing agricultural traits that optimize crop yields, use resources efficiently and resist various stresses that farmers face every day across the globe.

PEG Contracting, Inc. is the CM for both Phase I & II and provides staff augmentation for Syngenta.
