Ronald McDonald House Outreach

Community Outreach October 11, 2013 Come Volunteer with us!

Built with love, the Ronald McDonald House of Durham offers a comforting home away from home and a community of support for seriously-ill children and their families. Some of these families stay in the house for over a year, shuttling back & forth daily from area hospitals. We have three opportunities and slots will be filled first come, first serve.  Let us know by Mon, Oct 7th.

  • Evening of Fri, Oct 11th: Volunteers cook dinner for the families and IFMA plans to cook up a feast for these deserving children and their families. Additionally, this evening is the night that the house celebrates the birthdays for all the children whose birthdays are in October. We’ll start cooking and setting up around 3p and will wrap up around 7p.  For dinner, we need 12-15 volunteers.
  • Daytime on Fri, Oct 11th: We need 5 volunteers to bake goodies (cookies, brownies, etc.) for the house from 1p to 3p.
  • Can’t make it but want to contribute? We’ll need specific food & non-perishable item donations to cover the meal preparation.  Thanks to generosity of Mike Bradley of Brady Services, the pig and smoker are covered.  For all other items, we’ll need donations.  If you choose this option, e-mail for more detailed info.

If you would like to participate on either option, contact Ed Boyle at or at 919-888-8735. Sign up early to get in on this opportunity to make a difference!  Deadline to RSVP is Mon, Oct 7th.
