Hayden – Treasurer 2014-2015

1. What excites you the most about IFMA’s work in the Triangle?

The common interest to improve the operations of the facilities being managed through education and knowledge sharing

2. What made you decide to be on the Board?

Accounting and Finance are elements of my education and experience; therefore the Treasury role is more comfortable for me than for most people.  It’s a way I can contribute.

3. What do you want to accomplish by serving on the IFMA Board?

To add insights and experience to the group.  Hopefully this will result in a better organization and the ability to meet our goals.

4. How will being on the IFMA Board help you achieve your own personal goals?

I want to learn more about issues the industry is facing and what better way to learn than to immerse myself into the interactions of the members of IFMA.  If I can help offer solutions to the issues, it’s a win/win.

5. What legacy do you want to leave by virtue of serving on the IFMA Board?

By educating the membership about the #’s that drive the chapter’s finances, we can do a better job balancing costs with benefits.

6. What about IFMA makes you passionate about the organization?

There is an intensity and seriousness that permeates the group.  It is infectious.

7. What is your proudest professional accomplishment?  What about accomplishments outside of work?

When you own and operate your own business, it is a daily challenge.  I have survived some major challenges over the past 27 years.  Personally, I have a wonderful wife, family & married 36 years.

8. Do you have a professional mentor?  How important has mentorship been to your career?

I have had many heroes over the years in many areas of my life.  It is a huge part of who I am and I enjoy serving that role now with others.

9. What are you really good at?

Figuring out business problems and fixing them.

10. What is something that most IFMA folks would not know about you?

The diversity of my business ownership and background.

11. If you were holding the winning Powerball ticket in South Carolina from this week, what would you do with the money?

Pay off my debts and give the rest  away.

12. What do you like to do when you are not at work or doing IFMA Stuff?

Spend time outdoors and hunting.
