Monthly Meetings

January Meeting - January 13, 2010

Our January speaker is Mr. Alan Byrd, Area 7 Coordinator for North Carolina Emergency Management, CBO. He will be providing a presentation on Emergency Preparedness – Lessons Learned in North Carolina. How quickly your company can get back to business after a natural disaster such as a hurricane, a flood, a tornado, a fire, or even a Winter Storm, often depends on emergency planning done today. When you consider that the number of declared major disasters have nearly doubled since the 1990's, preparedness becomes an even more critical issue. Though each situation is unique, any organization can be better prepared if it plans carefully, puts emergency procedures in place, and practices for emergencies of all kinds.  Business continuity and Emergency Preparedness Planning can be complex issues depending on the particular industry, size and scope of your business. However, putting a plan in motion will improve the likelihood that your company will survive and recover. This presentation will cover the basics of how to initiate the emergency planning process within your company, and how to incorporate an attitude of preparedness within your employees for both work and at home.  Preparing makes good business sense. Get ready now!
