February Meeting Review

by Dorothy Lou Bailey

February’s get together was a double treat!  We had a blast learning about both the NC Museum of Natural Sciences and NC Museum of History.  Attendees had the opportunity to explore preservation techniques of a variety of objects including civil war flags, a 300 year old chest of drawers and the Governor’s wife’s dress from the inaugural ball.  All the while learning about the challenges behind calibrating the museums climate systems and how they stay operational on a frugal budget.  Excellent question and answer time with our resourceful guides led to a nice happy hour at Natty Green’s. Great times were had by all, a big thank you to everyone who made it happen!
