According to the Chinese Zodiac, the Year of 2012 is the Year of the Dragon – the ultimate auspicious symbol signifying success and happiness!

The Greater Triangle Chapter of IFMA has been influenced by the celestial Dragon and although we are thrilled about the achievements of 2011, the excitement of executing on 2012’s events is exhilarating!

Renowned speaker and author, Emily Pilloton, kicks off 2012 Programs with a Standing-Room Only must-attend event focused on people-centered, forward-thinking practices!  Programs will also host a spring Roundtable event, and throughout the calendar have Facility Management experts speaking on the subjects our membership is demanding.

Mark your calendars for a fun Chapter Networking event on Thursday, February 23rd at a private, tailgate party with Stormy and your peers before the Hurricanes take it to the Anaheim Ducks!  There will be lots of give-aways and momentos!  Go Canes!

SFP and/or FMP courses are coming to the Triangle area in the spring to help satisfy the education demands of our members!  Details are being finalized and will be shared soon but ensure you take advantage of this limited resource once available.

Golf in North Carolina always brings smiles and on April 25th, we will host our 10th Annual Golf Tournament at Lochmere Golf Club in Cary!  This is always a sold-out event and a great opportunity for sponsor recognition while we all have a blast hacking away on the course!  This event is also the key to our annually providing academic scholarships to the IFMA Foundation.

Don’t forget about the Annual Spring Conference at Duke University for the Academic Facilities Council April 25-27th.  Our members will be given exclusive access to select sessions and interface with building managers, university architects, planners, engineers, administrators, and other Facility Management professionals from all over the US.  The Chapter will also sponsor a membership-wide social event on April 26th to help celebrate the conference and network with all these attendees.

Most exciting is we will soon see our 300th active member comes through the doors of the Greater Triangle Chapter!  It will be a celebratory moment that demonstrates the Triangle’s attractiveness for FM’s premier organization.

Yes, the Year of the Dragon is here, and our Chapter will benefit from the continued success and happiness bestowed upon us.

May the celestial Dragon bring good luck to all our members!

Happy 2012 and see you at our monthly meeting,

Craig
